We’re Steve and Ann Teget - a married couple, native Midwesterners, and empty-nest travel enthusiasts. Need ideas for bucket-list worthy travel destinations and low-stress travel experiences? You’ve come to the right place. At Postcard Jar, we know you want a hassle-free vacation with people you love. In order to do that, you need the planning process to be easy and drama-free. The problem is, there are a million travel decisions to make which leaves you feeling overwhelmed and lost. Life is too short to let travel planning decisions keep you from exploring the world with amazing people. We understand what it’s like to meet every travel opportunity with, “I’ll do that someday.” It’s why we left our crazy-busy careers, started a travel blog and began organizing group travel experiences with highly-experienced travel agents to simplify the process. Our next group travel trip is a cruise to Alaska in May 2024! We have a few cabins remaining and would love to have you join us. Just comment “ALASKA” and we’ll send you the information you’ll need to sign up! One more thing - we’re sure you’re scratching your head about this whole “Postcard Jar” thing. Well, you see, whenever we travel, we pick up a postcard and jot down some of our favorite memories and experiences from that place. We mail the postcard home to ourselves and store all of our postcards in a big, decorative, glass jar that adorns a table in our entryway. It’s a constant reminder of the places we’ve been, the travel experiences we’ve had, and the memories we’ve made along the way. We’re glad you’re here and a part of our journey. 🎂 Please join me in wishing Steve a Happy Birth 🎂 Please join me in wishing Steve a Happy Birthday today. It’s not going to be an easy one this year, having lost his dad earlier this week. We’ll be in Shenandoah, Iowa, today where Steve grew up. We’ll be welcoming friends and family to town and reminiscing about fond family memories. While neither of us is in a particularly celebratory mood, we’re are taking time today to count our blessings, cherish the ones we love most, and continue to live our lives to the fullest the way Steve’s dad wanted us to. I love you so much and look forward to the year ahead (including out biggest trip yet). Know on this special day how much you are admired and loved by me and so many others. You made your dad incredibly proud. 💙
We wanted to let you know that Steve’s dad, John We wanted to let you know that Steve’s dad, John Teget, passed away at home Sept. 13 (his 82nd birthday). We’ve had wonderful memories together, including so many travels. If you were fortunate to have met John, you know that he loved meeting new people, exploring the world, and learning about other cultures. We will miss him greatly. 💙 Also, for those of you who have asked, we will have a memorial service Monday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. at Nishha Valley Funeral Home in Shenandoah, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Shenandoah Public Library Foundation or the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Foundation. They can be sent to Gayle Teget, 706 Church St., Shenandoah, IA, 51601.

❤️ Twelve years after our wedding day, we have ❤️ Twelve years after our wedding day, we have a few more wrinkles and a little less hair. The important thing is, we’re still smiling. We went back to the church where we were married this morning and remembered a beautiful day filled with friends and family, outstanding music, thoughtful God-breathed messages, and so much love. Twelve years later, we’re more grateful than ever that God brought us together.
We noticed today that one of our favorite Midwest We noticed today that one of our favorite Midwest restaurants, @bleuduckkitchen, is celebrating its seventh anniversary this weekend. We’ve been going there since about 2019, so I thought it might be nice to share a photo or two from one our our meals there. So, I typed “Bleu Duck Kitchen” into my iPhoto app and it turns out I have 415 photos of gorgeous plates, mouth-watering cocktails, and tempting desserts from Bleu Duck. Seriously. That’s how much we love Bleu Duck and the always unique, always delicious dishes they create. The restaurant is located in Rochester, Minn., just down the street from the Mayo Clinic where Ann has been treated for nine years. We’ve gone to Bleu Duck for celebratory meals after good scans and positive test results. We’ve also shed a few tears there after hearing disappointing news from her doctors. 
 But whatever the day had in store for us, we always left Bleu Duck feeling loved, nourished, and well cared for. Everyone who works there demonstrates hard work and compassion. Each meal is beautifully prepared and presented. Every cocktail well-crafted and perfectly balanced. Bleu Duck Kitchen is a special place. It’s filled with special people, special dishes, and it will always have a very special place in our hearts. Congratulations to Jenny, Erik, and everyone at Bleu Duck on a glorious seven years. Each year on our wedding anniversary (Aug. 27 make Each year on our wedding anniversary (Aug. 27 makes 12 years) we take a photo of ourselves holding the photo that we took the year before. It has been a wonderful way to commemorate our special day and celebrate our marriage. Every photograph represents a little something different - times of joy and sorrow, sickness and health, plenty and want. We were both single for a very long time and didn’t find each other and marry until we were 38 and 42 years old. Every year is a blessing and our marriage is still the journey of a lifetime.
