Our friends Jo and Steve sent us a postcard from beautiful San Diego, California! They said they loved their time in La Jolla where they watched sea lions at the cove. La Jolla Cove is a beach in San Diego that is ideal for snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, and swimming and because it is a marine refuge, it has specific restrictions that protect marine life.

Most warm days, the La Jolla (which means “the jewel” in Spanish) Cove is filled with snorkelers and swimmers and lots of sea lions! They are so much fun to watch — the sea lions, that is.

Jo wrote that they also liked Balboa Park, a 1,200-acre urban cultural park. In addition to open space areas, natural vegetation zones, green belts, gardens, and walking paths, it contains museums, several theaters, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo.

When you’re traveling next, be sure to send us a postcard at Postcard Jar, P.O. Box 334, Crete, NE 68333. We’d love to hear from you!
