As Dream Vacations travel advisors, we were recently invited to participate in a Seminar at Sea on the Regent Seven Seas Splendor. We spent 11 nights on the Lighthouses and Lobster Rolls cruise itinerary that began in Montreal and ended in New York City. They’ll note your preference before you’ve chosen a seat and you’ll have your choice in no time–double strained, of course, as nature intended. And, every night at dinner, you’ll find two unique wine selections that pair well with your meal. Of course, you may also choose an old favorite.
6. Complimentary Valet Laundry
The laundry service on board is second-to-none. Simply place whatever needs to be laundered–pants, dress shirts, or even your unmentionables–in a laundry bag outside your door in the morning and you’ll find it pressed and folded in your cabin by cocktail hour. Ann’s nightgown even returned with crisp creases and our undergarments were pressed and perfectly folded, wrapped in tissue paper like a present. With the spacious walk-in closet and silk-padded hangers in our suite, we could bring a full wardrobe and still keep everything fresh and perfectly organized.
7. Beautifully Plated Dishes
On Regent, dishes are all made-to-order. Nothing is prepared or plated until it is ordered, so every dish comes out fresh, hot, and looking exquisite – like this delicious dessert.
8. A Curated Art Collection
Wander the corridors and you’ll pass original art pieces from renowned artists. The collection is museum-grade yet quietly integrated—no placards, no velvet ropes. The ship itself is the art gallery with more than $5 million in fine art freely available for appreciation.

On the pool deck you’ll find padded loungers with tidy, removable terrycloth covers. As a result, they feel cool against sun-warmed skin. No damp vinyl like on other cruise lines, just fresh, padded luxury.

Every port includes a menu of complimentary tours that you book online before the cruise. When it’s time for your excursion, you receive a numbered card—no lanyards, no annoying stickers. Buses depart on the dot, so we never waited more than about three minutes in the theater before our excursions departed.
11. Fresh Flowers, Always
Orchids on the concierge desk, roses on the dinner table, hydrangeas cascading from the atrium. The floral arrangements are replaced daily, so the ship smells faintly of a high-end florist rather than a lobby air freshener.
12. The best of all: intuitive service
We don’t know how they do it, but somehow the happy and helpful crew on board Regent Seven Seas Cruises knows what you want before you do. From glasses that don’t run dry to plates that disappear from in front of you right after your final bite, someone always seems to be watching out for your needs. Simply put, the service was exemplary as can be expected from Regent’s industry leading 1:1.4 crew to guest ratio. And because it’s a smaller ship with fewer than 1,000 guests, you’ll find that you never have to wait for service, either.
